Hi Skyman,
The universe had a beginning (according to measurements that can be observed). God cannot be observed except when He chooses to reveal Himself within the stream of time. Since God or 'First Cause' brought about the universe, He is transcendant and not subject to any limitations set my our reasoning or logic. He needs no beginning nor any end.
I am, from scripture is 'ego eime' and it means 'I exist'. This is the fact that needs to be accepted before any other proposition is valid. Logic cannot explain God, nor can it explain any claim that there is 'no God'.

TOP TEN SIGNS THAT YOU ARE AN UNQUESTIONING JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
by nicolaou in10- you vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of your god - jehovah.. .
9- you feel insulted and 'dehumanized' when scientists say that people evolved from lesser life forms, but you have no problem with the biblical claim that we were created from dirt.. .
8- you laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in multidues of demons, angels, cherubs etc.. .

..............believe we were created from dirt.
We are all carbon life forms, Nicolation!
.........of course reasonable people feel insulted when 'science' claims, without proof, that all life comes from a great cosmic accident, that was itself had no cause, then single cell organisms appeared (but we don't know how), which changed to minor life forms, then to fish, to amphibians, to lizards, to mammals to mankind and we only have six thousand years of recorded history!
Oh, but man has been around for how many thousands of years yet recorded not hisoty of all of that time. Talk about believing in 'pink invisible unicorns'! I thought science used observations and measurment to discover truths? Popular bad science has a naturalist world-view that begins with this axiom: no supernatural events have occured nor can occur, yet the very basis for naturalism and it's main theology, evolution needs supernatural events (not unlike miracles) to have even occurred!
The rest of your post follows along the same lines. Quit trying to impress people by imitating the rest of the agnostics here. BTW, you do need some reading into Biblical interpretation if you are going to critique scripture.

Anthropic Principal Debunks Naturalism
by Shining One inthe anthropic principle .
by dr. norman geisler .
the anthropic principle (greek: anthropos, "human being") states that the universe was fitted from the very first moment of its existence for the emergence of life in general and human life in particular.

Hey Pink,
Who is running away? Does that mean if I stay here six weeks then leave for a spell, then I am running away? How about six days or six hours? Who are you to judge that? I have been on here (and the previous version) for various time periods for the last several years. The agnostic set here is famous for simply outlasting the rest of us.........I have a life to lead away from here. It would be refreshing to see some of the mini-Alans here come up with something original.

Runningboy,
>I was rooting around on the internet today, and I came across something that gave me a unique insight into how fundamentalists have a good time. I was looking for a quick list of the ten plagues of Egypt, and I stumbled upon a website that gave ideas for things to do on a rainy day. One suggestion was to have the kids re-enact the ten plagues of Egypt. It was called “The Ten Plagues Adventure”.
You still haven't actually looked into any hermeutics books or theological interpretation?
>Now, I can’t imagine anything much more fun than that. For example, one suggestion was to re-enact plague five (the death of the livestock) by putting stuffed animals all over the house – face up. If the kids aren’t traumatized enough, the fun of the hailstorm could be recreated by putting ice cubes all over the house and on the windowsills. That might be handy. I’m sure I’d be ready for a drink by that time. My personal favorite was the lice. Kids were instructed to scotch tape white dots all over their body and leave them for a few hours. The tape would start to irritate and itch, enhancing the visual effect of the dots. Good times.
Kids learn much by visualization and role playing. There is nothing traumatic about any of the above activities. Did you know that teens have to carry around sacks of flour that are decorated as infants in order to see what its like to carry a baby around? If you are going to be serious you need to quit 'making mountains out of molehills' and smearing all fundamentalists by painting them as the same as the JW cult.

Tetly Plants Feet Firmly in Mouth
by Shining One in>i would like one link from you that proves that we were created by god.
i want full proof, not just circular logic.
i want evidence that not only turns the theory of evolution on it's head, but also does a better job of explaining the data and answering where we come from, how we evolved, and what we can expect to find in the future.

From StupDogg
lets count the fallcies....
1. I can no more prove to you that God is real than I can prove to you that I love my family. If you are convinced I don't love my family, no matter what I say or do will be dismissed by you as invalid. It is your presuppositions that are the problem, not whether or not God exists.
#1. False Dilemma
(((((NO delemma, a fact)))))))
3. The universe exists. It is not infinitely old. If it were it would have run out of energy long ago. Therefore, it had a beginning. The universe did not bring itself into existence. Since it was brought into existence by something else, I assert that God is the one who created the universe.
#2. Bifurcation
((((obvious fact: I observe the universe, physicists have taken MEASUREMENTS that point toward a first cause. I can call 'First Cause' God, this is essentially deism.
1. There are many scientists who affirm evidence for God's existence through science.
Such as? And what evidence? #3: Anecdotal evidence
(((((I have posted links of some from some of them, go look.))))))
2. Your presupposition is that science has no evidence for God, but that is only an opinion.
What evidence, ie proof? #4 Burden of proof
(((((({proof is provided above))))))))
3. Science looks at natural phenomena through measuring, weighing, seeing, etc. God, by definition, is not limited to the universe. Therefore,it would not be expected that physical detection of God would be found.
Exactly! But we only have 5 known receptors with which to gather data, and they all rely on physical detection. Gonna have to give you a fallacy for the whole "God, by definition" part though #5 Argumentum ad ignorantium
((((((Quit trying to sound like a 'scholar', you are not fooling anyone)))))))
5. You can't answer the God question, nor the Origins question. You've no business putting the burden of proof on anyone else.
Sigh. This one is easy #6 Burden of proof.
Please, for the love of God, so to speak, study up on logic and logical fallacies before you try any more "reasoning".
((((((ditto, where does 'logic' itself come from, Great Brain #2?)))))))

For Dave. my first link:difference between Buddha and Christ

hi dave, .
the article begins with this.

Hi Bo-wevilforce,
>Buddha was an inspiration to all of us. Read the Jesus Sutras if you want to learn anything about the white thug Jesus.....throws out the stupid / inane crap of the bible and simplifies it to what is really imporatant and casts a new light on things.
Let's see, did he start that pantheistic religion where you can't kill cows, rats and other critters, even flies? Did you know that diseases from rats has killed hundreds of miilions of people? Then there are the storehouses of grain and other food eaten and contaminated by rats. Yea, Hindus and Buddhists are both reliable faiths to invest in!
You need some new light and I ain't talking Watchtower of easter mysticism.
Rex
Dave,
So sorry you are disappointed. It doesn't take much in the way of investigation to discount pantheisma nd its offshoots.

Let me answer for Elderwho: READ GENESIS
1. I can no more prove to you that God is real than I can prove to you that I love my family. If you are convinced I don't love my family, no matter what I say or do will be dismissed by you as invalid. It is your presuppositions that are the problem, not whether or not God exists.
2. I can no more prove to you that God is real than you can prove that the universe is all that exists. Your demand of proof precludes acknowledgement of many types of evidence...because your presuppositions don't allow it.
3. The universe exists. It is not infinitely old. If it were it would have run out of energy long ago. Therefore, it had a beginning. The universe did not bring itself into existence. Since it was brought into existence by something else, I assert that God is the one who created the universe.
Go ahead, Bright Boy: logically explain the existence of the universe. Opinions and guesses don't count.
Science is NOT in agreement on Origins
1. There are many scientists who affirm evidence for God's existence through science.
2. Your presupposition is that science has no evidence for God, but that is only an opinion.
3. Science looks at natural phenomena through measuring, weighing, seeing, etc. God, by definition, is not limited to the universe. Therefore,it would not be expected that physical detection of God would be found.
4. YOUR Science obviously clashes with the very observable order (first cause, irreducable complexity) and magnificence in the universe, as per my paste of numerous articles that are much more reasonable.
5. You can't answer the God question, nor the Origins question. You've no business putting the burden of proof on anyone else.

I love that one...the pig tooth that was the evolution evidence in the famous 'Monkey Trial'. They claimed it was a fossil of man and even had a wonderful drawing showing the development of ape to man. LOL
Then there was the forty year fraud called 'Piltdown Man'. Evolutionists are real wonders at estimation and interpretation, as long as it fits their projected and predicted results!

>i suppose that if you already believe in miracles, then you could believe that carm actually does a good job "answering" the difficulties, and not rehashing old, tired, circular arguments.
Tetly,
Your very basis for logic depends on circular reasoning, as I have already shown (and you can't answer)! You also constantly appeal to authority with your unqualified acceptance of 'science' from a naturalistic presupposition.

You're simply quacking liberal theological interpretation based on axioms that naturalists hold! In a word, "bunk"!
